Welcome to my site! My name is Alan Campbell and I’m a photographer / artist located in Northern Ireland with a passion for capturing black & white and colour pictures of Ireland.
My name is Alan Campbell and I’m a 70’s kid, born and bred in Newry, County Down, Northern Ireland. I started my journey in photography in 2006 and was inspired by the images I captured at the Portrush Air Show. My passion for photography grew from here and has developed into a love for monochrome and vibrant colour images of local scenes in Ireland. In today’s world where mobile camera technology means everyone can take good quality pictures I like to think that my images are “more than a snapshot” as I use my eyes to spot changing weather conditions, textures, contrast and hopefully come up with compositions that present a different perspective. I then go back to my digital darkroom to perfect a print that can be used to decorate your home.
Many of my images have been captured in both Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland, particularly County Antrim and County Donegal at locations such as the Slieve League Cliffs, Bad Eddie shipwreck, Ballintoy and many other beautiful locations. Read more to find out my top 10 favorite images.
All of my colour and monochrome prints are available as Open Edition Prints on my FineArtAmerica.com site. In my online store you can purchase canvas and fine art prints. Personally I love the quality and fade-resistance of archival paper such as photo rag but it’s hard to resist a canvas print to bring out any vivid colors or a metal prints for rooms where there is alot of moisture.
My black & white images are available via Metro Imaging in London and are printed on Harman GDS RC Digital Pearl which is a premium Resin Coated paper with a bright base tint. Tried and tested by 35mm film photographers, the Harman (formerly Ilford) brand is well known for quality and their modern range of papers reflect this. This resin coated papers has a consistent and neutral image tone (in other words it has no colour cast unlike other papers and printing methods) and the paper offers fine tonal benefits including strong blacks and fine details in the highlights.
All prints can be shipped globally. Any profit from the sale of prints or digital downloads will be donated to Adoption UK, a charity for adoptive parents and their adopted children.
Royalty Free and Rights Managed licenses are also available to purchase from my fineartamerica licensing site.
